Vishi Nanmathie Madaree
Vishi Nanmathie Madaree is a multi-talented; multi-skilled; innovated person committed to being of service to the community and social justice. She is an ADR Network SA trained mediator based in Durban. In 2014; she successfully completed an Alternative Dispute Resolution Program in Mediation and Arbitration under the auspices of the ADR Network South Africa; and in 2023 she successfully completed the ADR Network SA Program in Mediation including Rule 41A and Court Annexed Mediation. She has also completed ADR programs in Human Rights; Geopolitical conflict resolution and peace keeping; Domestic violence, sex violence and youth violence; Hate crimes; Restorative justice in the workplace.
Her other qualifications include University of Education Diploma in Education and a Further Diploma in Education (Family Life and Social Skills) from UKZN; Bachelor of Arts Degree (Criminology & Economics) and Advanced Labour Programme (Centre for Business Law) from UNISA; Diploma in Fundamentals of Bookkeeping First Class Pass from Unischool; CCMA Commissioner;/ Arbitration certification: CCMA Education; Training and Development Course (Substantive law; Conciliation; Jurisdictional Ruling; Managing Dismissal; Arbitration 1; Arbitration 2) .
Her journey into ADR began some years ago when she completed her first ADR Network SA mediation program. She has applied these principles in her work within the education sector as an educator and Union Official as a national negotiator; shop steward and case manager dealing with disciplinary processes; grievance/dispute resolution; conciliation & arbitration. She has assisted communities regarding family and work-related grievances. She firmly believes that mediation and restorative processes is the way forward to a better society. She is committed to ensuring that dispute/ grievance processes uphold dignity and human rights is maintained. She believes that the restorative process is the only way to bring balance; hope and peace. She practices out of the box thinking; creative problem solving and negotiated resolution. It is possible and has been successful. Mediation makes provision for empowerment and finding win -win solutions.
Vishi has an approachable; open minded; innovative character. Her commitment is to make a difference. Her experience as an educator; sports educator and teacher counsellor together with her experience in conflict and dispute resolution reinforces the value and importance of healthy open; transparent and honest dialogue. She is committed to ensuring a positive and safe environment where parties can find common ground and secure lasting resolutions. This is within restorative and mediation processes.
