Adv Ronelle Ferguson
Adv Ronelle Ferguson is a practising Advocate of the High Court of South Africa with over three decades of experience in litigation, personal injury disputes, insurance litigation, administrative law, and mediation. She began her legal career in 1989 as an attorney, later becoming the first female partner at Stegmanns Attorneys. She was admitted as an advocate in 1999 joining the Pretoria Bar.
Throughout her career, Adv Ferguson has combined courtroom practice with a strong commitment to training and mentorship. She has served as a trainer for candidate attorneys and pupils for more than two decades, and has played a leading role in ethics, disciplinary, and social responsibility initiatives within the Pretoria Society of Advocates. She has also acted as a judge in the Gauteng, Mbombela, and Middelburg divisions since 2018.
Her passion for accessibility and innovation in the legal profession led her to found Virtual Chambers, a platform created during the COVID-19 lockdown to support colleagues in sustaining their practices. She has also initiated and managed numerous social responsibility projects, including the Dignity Dreams schoolgirl initiative, the Knysna Fire relief drive, and Putt Fore Hope golf days, among others.
As qualified mediator since 1993, Adv Ferguson completed advanced mediation training in 2021 at the University of Cape Town, most recently focusing on personal injury mediation training in 2025. She is a member of the Legal Practice Council, also formerly Pretoria Society of Advocates, and other professional bodies.
Her vision remains to uphold the integrity, accessibility, and constitutional values of the legal profession, while continuing to mentor and empower the next generation of legal practitioners.
