Adv. Bokang Mpho Motshwane

I am a qualified legal practitioner (Advocate) based in Gauteng, with active experience in civil and commercial litigation. I have received formal training in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) through the Legal Practice Council’s accredited Mediation Training Programme, with a particular focus on Rule 41A court-annexed mediation.


My mediation expertise includes:

• Personal injury and RAF claims

• Medical negligence matters

• Construction and commercial disputes


My litigation background enhances my capacity to facilitate resolution in legally complex matters, and I am proficient in managing both caucus and joint sessions with a solutions-oriented approach. I have also developed practical mediation tools, such as caucus scripts, settlement templates, and party summaries, which support structured yet flexible engagements.

• Played a lead role in several complex civil litigation and personal injury matters (including RAF and medical negligence matters), often involving high-value quantum and strategic legal arguments, demonstrating my strength in alternative dispute resolution strategies.

• In 2014, I successfully completed my Pupillage training through the Pretoria Society of Advocates and was admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa in June 2014. I completed my advocacy training and became a full member of the Pretoria Bar following the successful completion of my pupillage program in August 2014.

• In 2021, I completed a Practical Legal Training (PLT) course to enable my conversion from a referral advocate to a Trust Account Advocate, equipping me with knowledge in legal accounting, practice management, and client trust administration.

• In June 2025, I completed the Commercial and Civil Mediation training with the Law Society of South Africa (LSSA LEAD), with an emphasis on Rule 41A High Court mediation processes.


I bring over a decade of experience in civil and commercial litigation, having acted as counsel in numerous matters involving breach of contract, delictual claims, eviction disputes, professional negligence, and personal injury matters including Road Accident Fund and medical negligence cases.


My courtroom experience has developed strong evaluative and facilitative skills, wellsuited to the mediation environment. I am actively expanding my mediation practice and am particularly interested in contributing to the growth of Rule 41A compliance and structured dispute resolution in South Africa’s civil courts.
