Adv. Thandi Hedwig Henrietta Nhlengetwa
Advocate Thandi Nhlengetwa is a member of the Pan African Bar Association, with a diverse background in entrepreneurship, banking and legal sectors. She commenced her professional career at management level with The Standard Bank of South Africa, where she developed robust expertise in customer relations, risk management, investments, securities, and foreign exchange.
Demonstrating a keen sense of business strategy and an entrepreneurial mindset, Advocate Thandi Nhlengetwa established and managed The Kitchen Centre, a business she successfully operated for fifteen years. Her exemplary leadership and innovation in this role were recognised when she was honoured with the Sanlam Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the late 1990s.
In addition to her business accomplishments, Advocate Nhlengetwa contributed to national policy development during a pivotal period in South Africa’s history. She served on the panel responsible for shaping the policy framework of the White Paper for Small Business Development, an initiative undertaken during the country’s transition to its new Constitutional Democracy in 1994.
Following the introduction of the National Credit Act in 2007, Advocate Nhlengetwa completed a specialised course in Debt Counselling through the Banking Association of South Africa. She was registered as a Debt Counsellor (Registration No. NCRDC86),in 2007, a credential she continues to hold, and serves as the Director of her own Debt Counselling Practice.
Her practical legal training includes the successful completion of Mediation and Court-Annexed Mediation Program (2018). Legal Education and Development (LEAD) (2022) through The Law Society of South Africa ,as well as a Pupillage in 2024 at the Pius Langa School of Advocacy of the Pan-African Bar Association. (PABASA)
