Betty Manko Baloyi
Betty Manko Baloyi is an accredited ADR Network SA mediator and an experienced South African Police Service Captain and Acting Unit Commander, with more than three decades of experience in policing, investigations, child protection, family violence and sexual offences. Her extensive frontline and leadership experience has developed her ability to remain calm under pressure, exercise sound judgement and approach complex and sensitive matters with integrity, impartiality and compassion.
Betty has served throughout her SAPS career in a range of roles, progressing from Constable through Sergeant and Warrant Officer to Captain and Unit Commander. Her experience includes visible policing, protection services, firearm administration, general investigations and specialised Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) investigations. Since 2023, she has served as Captain and Unit Commander, with responsibility for command, supervision and detective unit service delivery.
Her professional development includes specialist training in vulnerable children, forensic DNA collection, sexual offences, family violence, child protection and crime resolution. She completed the 65-hour ADR Network SA Mediation Programme in 2026 and brings strong investigative, listening, communication, assessment and problem-solving skills to her mediation practice. Her extensive experience working with individuals and families in highly sensitive circumstances enables her to approach conflict with discipline, empathy and a practical, people-centred perspective.
Betty is currently studying towards an LLB with STADIO Higher Education, further strengthening her understanding of legal principles and dispute resolution. She is committed to facilitating constructive dialogue and helping parties work towards fair, respectful and sustainable resolutions.
She is proficient in English, Afrikaans, XiTsonga and Sepedi, which she can read, write and speak, and speaks IsiZulu, IsiXhosa and Tshivenda.
