Chantal Portia Madiba

Chantal Portia Madiba is a dedicated legal professional with a robust background in both environmental management and law. She currently serves as a Legal Administrator at the Department of Forestry, Fisheries, and the Environment, where she provides vital litigation support, facilitates contract management processes, drafts legal opinions, and ensures compliance with legislative frameworks across various mandates. Her work demonstrates a thorough understanding of South African law, including the Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) and legislation governing state property and public administration.

Chantal holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) as well as a BA in Environmental Management, both obtained from the University of South Africa. She further completed her Practical Legal Training through the School of Legal Practice in Pretoria. Prior to her current role, she worked for over a decade as an Environmental Administrator at the Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism Department, where she focused on reviewing environmental impact assessments, monitoring compliance, and initiating environmental programmes in collaboration with other government bodies.

Fluent in Sepedi, English, isiZulu, and Setswana, Chantal is known for her strong communication abilities, legal research and drafting skills, and meticulous attention to detail. She is highly organised, adept at managing multiple responsibilities, and passionate about promoting accountability, good governance, and sustainable development through her work in the public sector.
